First Big Country date announced for 2014

Popping up on the See Tickets site tonight is news that Big Country will be playing in Fulham on March 20th of next year at Under The Bridge in Fulham Road SW6.

Mike Peters "Declaration" UK dates

As expected Mike has announced 5 UK dates for next year to celebrate the 30th anniversary of "Declaration". Tickets go on sale this Wednesday (23rd) at 9a.m. and are available from Ticketline HERE

Mark Taylor / Brian James gig.

Mark Taylor will be performing an acoustic set with Brian James on Saturday 23rd November at the Fiddler's Elbow in London.

Tickets are limited to just 150 and are already going down so make sure you act quickly if you want a chance of seeing this one!

Spear Of Destiny - Bedford Esquires Friday 18th October 2013 (30 Years and Counting Tour)

I'd never been to Esquires in Bedford but given the chance to see the mighty Spear in a more intimate surrounding I couldn't miss it! How do you fit 30 years of brilliant and varied music into one evening? Well they managed it - ok there were some songs missing I would have liked (top of my list the awesome "Kalashnikov" from "Omega Point") and I was initially concerned there was no "Liberator" or "Mickey" on the set list but never fear they were saved for the encore!

Stiff Little Fingers launch Pledge Music Campaign

As previously reported SLF are offering fans the chance to directly fund the recording of their next album and get some cool rewards in exchange. Pledges start at £15 for the finished CD (£25 for a signed version) and go right up to £3000 for those with a larger wallet! There are loads of different incentives and at lots of different price points but please be aware that most of these have limited numbers and some have already started selling out (handwritten lyric sheets or your chance to perform with the band for instance) so get your money down quick!

LHS Route 66 update!

Many of you will know, or know of Lydia Franklin and the amazing work she does both as a volunteer and a fundraiser for LHS. Well she is currently cycling Americas famed Route 66(...yes, cycling!) and you can read her daily blog at http://route66lhscycle.blogspot.co.uk/?m=1 which you can follow her progress, see photos and leave messages of support for her.

She has already reached her initial target....so set a fresh target of £3000....yep, she's reached that now too! So spread the word with friends, relatives, cycling enthusiasts...basically anyone and everyone and lets see how high she can get that total up for LHS!

Not everyone can spare money and that's fine, send a kind word, send her Love, Hope and Strength...let her know you're out there thinking about her!

Mike Peters "Declaration" anniversary shows.

The New York dates that I bought you last week have been officially confirmed by The Alarm site and what's more....they will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of  "Declaration".

This is Mike playing "Declaration" and telling stories about the tracks and album... sounds amazing!

"Zed Hed" on vinyl!

As previously reported RT-Zed are bringing the excellent "Zed Hed" to vinyl in January as a strictly limited edition and here is what you will get! (check the original post for a list HERE)

RT-Zed announce London date

RT-Zed have tonight confirmed that they will be playing in London on the 19th December at 229 The Venue situated on Great Portland Street. This will be a busy week for Alarm fans as it is the day before James Stevenson plays a Bowie set with Holy Holy at The Lexington (also in London).

Tickets for the RT-Zed gig are a very pre-xmas friendly low price of only £8 or £10 on the door and are available in advance from HERE

The live band for this gig will see Steve Grantley and Jonesy joined by Simon Turner on bass and Ultra Violet on drums.

Joe Silva book released

Joe Silva has released his book "To The City Of Angels And Back" which also includes codes to download two new tracks "Home" and "The Speed Of Life".

I asked Joe to tell us a little bit about it....

"Essentially, it is a really cool short rock-&-roll story about a time in my life when I was eating at the set of 'Married With Children' in Los Angeles to stay alive while struggling to make ends meet, right up until I was about to live on the streets...all in an effort to keep my dream alive of making it in the music industry."

I also wanted to know about the religious themes in the book and whether people would enjoy it regardless of their own religious views.

"It is a spiritual book for sure, but any faith will appreciate the story, and those who may not feel very spiritual in their life might think about things differently after reading this book."

Mike playing America 2014

Another date has come out via a venue advertising a Mike Peters gig for next March. So it looks like there will be 2 gigs on the 15th of March 2014 an "early" show at 8pm then a "late" show at 10pm at the Iridium Club in New York.

General Admission tickets cost $25 while Premier Seating is set at $40. Please note though there is also a $15 food and drink minimum.
